FOLKSTON - Josephine Crews, 83, of Folkston, passed away Tuesday (Aug. 19, 2008).
She was a native and life-long resident of Charlton County. Her parents were the late William and Effie Lowther Crews. She was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Crews; a son, Willis Crews; a sister, Janie Carter; and three brothers, Nathan Crews, Owen Crews and Oscar Crews.
She is survived by five daughters, Wanda (John) Osborne, of Cedar Park, Texas, Phyllis (Bobby) Sarine, of Summerville, S.C., Hattie Mae (Bill) Flemings, of Perry, Norma Jean Rodriguez, of Killeen, Texas, and Nancy Carter, of Folkston; three sons, Warren (Kathy) Crews, of Nahunta, William (Doris) Crews, of Winokur, and David Crews, of Folkston; three sisters, Mildred Johnson, Lorene Carter and Pearl Batton, all of Folkston; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends this evening at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston from 6 to 9.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Jack Stolte, the Rev. Ion Johns and the Rev. Ralph Crews officiating.
Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
