Content Analysis
The author explains "the information utilized has been in appearance both laid and reliable"[8] . While he believes this to be true, he also states "the reader should carefuly weigh the evidence on the basis of the indicated sources"[9]. In fact, I have already identified a few inaccuracies.
Most of the facts presented appears to be from personal correspondence between the author and with the individuals listed when living. He asked them to provide genealogical information and primary sources when available. The author seems to imply that not everyone provided the same level of detail and documentation during this process [9].
Some source citations are present throughout the text, include documents, and some individuals who provided content.
Known Issues
- Page 1316 states Andrew Birkett and Irene Palmer had 4 children [10] Irene was Andrew's second wife, and they only had three children, Andrews oldest daughter was with his first wife Lizzabelle Electra Bruce.[11]
- Page 1316 states Andrew Birkett's youngest son was a missionary to Japan [12]. In fact, it was his eldest daughter, Elsie Rose Birkett, who was a missionary to Japan.
Line of interest begins with Andrew Birkett.
