William "Bill" Oliver was born 19 March 1924 at Copp Hospital, Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, son of Oliver Haswell James and Rachel Winch Edwards[7]. On 22 October 1954 William married Elsie Birket.[8]

Bill joined the army in 30 Oct 1942 for the duration of the ware plus six months[9]. According to William he served in the Pacific during the war.
