Notes
The official enumeration date for the 1860 census was the census date 1 June 1860[1]. This document was enumerated on 21 Jun 1860, and the informant is unknown. Because the the informant is unknown[1] we cannot determine who provided the information and all assertions must be treated ad secondary.
This document has three families of interest, the households of David Hickox and Benjamin Franklin HICKOX. They were both enumerated in 9th district in Pierce County, Georgia and their local post office was located in Blackshear on the same page. Given the rural nature of the area at the time [2] , it's impossible to tell how close they actually resided to one another.
This document asserts Benjamin Hickox married an Elizabeth to each other "within the last year" (between 02 Jun 1858 and 01 Jun 1859).
Previous Household members enumerated on this document
- Elizabeth, Thomas, James, Nancy, David, Jonathan, Sarah (child), Jacob.
Benjamin's Household members enumerated on this document
- Benjamin Hickox, Elizabeth (Hickox)
The 1860 census does not provide relationships, however convention for seems to have been to list the Head of household's wife second followed by the children. This could be used as indirect evidence that Sarah was his wife, followed by Drusilla, Perry, Isaac, Kisiah, Harley, Levicy, Mary as their children.
