Calculating the date of birth based on the age listed yeilds Tuesday, February 13, 1798, which does not match the date listed on the same headstone.

The 1850-1880 show 52, 62[5], 73, 83[6], respectively, wich puts the birth between 1797-1798.

Another more modern marker, which origin is unknown, has been placed adjacent to the headstone mentioned above[7]. It is clearly legible, and appears have been placed near the headstone several years after the original headstone. Because the origin of this contemporary marker are unknown and it appears to be several years newer than the original marker it is impossible to determine it's accuracy or reliability. This source should be treated as secondary.

(Update - The Headstone - David Hickox - Cite claims that David Hickox was born 13 Jan 1798.)

1860

1870

1880 Federa census[9]

According to the 1880 Census David Hickox was 62 at the time of the 1860 census. He was enumerated on 10 June 1880[10], and the official census date was 1 June 1880[11]. The informant is not recorded and all information should be considered secondary.

Using the official census date (1 June 1880) suggests a birth date between between 02 Jun 1817 and 01 Jun 1818. It is also possible the informant stated their age based on the day they were interviewed (10 June 1880). If this was the case it suggests a birth date between between 11 Jun 1817 and 10 Jun 1818.

(Update - The 1880 Federal Census - David Hickox claims that On 10 June 1880, David Hikcox was reported to have been 83 on the enumeration date.)
