Biographical Sketch

Micajah2 Crews,the son of Alexander1 Crews and Lucy Crews, was born 10 February 1810[1] in South Carolina,United States[2], and died 3 October 1887 in Georgia,United States[3]. Micajah is buried in High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church in Hoboken, Brantley County, Georgia, United States[4].

Micajah and his parents moved to lower Wayne County, Georgia in 1820, and he grew up in Wayne and Camden counties and lived in that section until his death[5].

Micajah married Emenizer Robinson on 21 Sep 1837 [6]

Micajah Crews lived in the 590th district of Ware County but was cut off into Pierce County in its creation in 1858. This territory is now in Brantley County.

Mr. Crews died at his home near Hickox, Oct. 3, 1877. He and his wife are buried at old High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church.

Micajah served in the Indian War as a private under Capt. James Jones in 1840[7][8][9].

In 1844 Micajah was baptized into an "arm" of High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church, at "the Buffalo", and was dismissed by letter Jan. 11, 1845, to unite in constituting a new church there which is now the church at Hickox, Ga.

Easter3 Hester Crews b. 1840. in Ware County, Georgia.[10] Easter married Jesse Altman Sr.[11], son of Thomas Altman Jr. and 'Lucy' Levincy Leigh [12], on 18 Jan 1853[13] in Wayne County, Georgia[14]. Jesse was born in 1815[15] in Wayne County, Georgia. He died on 17 Jan 1900[16] in Pierce County, Georgia[17].
ii. Civility3 Crews was born about 1842 in Ware Co.,Ga[18] . She died about 1868 in Brantley Co.,Ga. Civility married William Burnside Griffin CSA-GA. William was born on 15 Jul 1837 in Ware Co.,Ga.[19] He died on 25 Feb 1900 in Clinch Co.,Ga. Bryant Crews was born on 10 Dec 1844 in Ware County Georgia. He died on 1 Jan 1938 in Brantley County, Georgia.[20]Bryant married Mary Letitia "Polly" Dowling daughter of David C. Dowling and Letitia Thomas. Mary was born on 16 Nov 1845. She died on 28 Mar 1929.
iii. Nancy3 Crews was born on 11 Nov 1847 in Ware County Georgia. She died on 23 Oct 1890 in Brantley Co. Ga. She was buried in High Bluff Cemetery, Hoboken, Georgia. [21]

Nancy married James Preston Jones son of James P Jones and Sarah Mizell. James was born on 25 Mar 1840 in Brantley Co. Ga. He died on 23 May 1924 in Brantley Co. Ga. He was buried in High Bluff Cemetery, Hoboken, Georgia.

iv. Bryant3 Crews
4. v. Riley3 Crews was born on 17 Jul 1849. He died on 16 Jan 1900. He was buried in High Bluff Cemetery, Brantley County, Georgia.[22] Riley married (1) Annie Crews daughter of William Cone and Rachel Adeline Stokes-Crews. Riley married (2) Mary Cason daughter of James Cason and Sarah Dora Thomas. Mary was born on 27 May 1847. She died on 28 Mar 1917.
vi. Hampton3 Crews Sr was born on 27 Sep 1852 in Wilmington,. He died on 22 May 1932 in Charlton County, Georgia. He was buried in Sardis Cemetery Charlton Co.Ga.[23] Hampton married (1) Basheba Guy daughter of William Guy and Bathsheba Thomas about 1879. Basheba was born on 1 Feb 1850. She died on 26 Feb 1918 in Charlton County, Georgia . She was buried in Sardis Cemetery Charlton Co.Ga. Hampton married (2) Lusina Summerall. Hampton married (3) Sarah Robinson Lowther in Brantley County, Georgia. Sarah was born on 5 May 1862. She died on 6 Jan 1940 in Charlton Co, Ga . She was buried in Corinth Primitive Baptist Church Charlton Co.
vii. Archibald3 R Crews was born on 22 Mar 1854. He died on 29 Aug 1917 in Brantley County Georgia. Archibald married Martha M Griffin daughter of Dempsey Griffin and Mary Elizabeth Dowling. Martha was born on 3 Sep 1856. She died on 14 Aug 1922 in Brantley County, Georgia.[24]
viii. Kizzie3 Crews was born in 1857. [25] Kizzie married (1) Unknown . Kizzie married (2) William Randall Anderson. William was born on 2 Oct 1855 in Brantley County, Georgia. He died on 12 Mar 1924 in Brantley County Georgia.
ix. Banner3 Crews was born on 14 Jun 1855 in Pierce County, Georgia . He died on 11 Oct 1935. He was buried in High Bluff Cemetery, Brantley Co., Ga.[26] Banner married (1) Harriet Letitia Griffin "Hattie" daughter of Dempsey Griffin and Mary Elizabeth Dowling. Harriet was born on 12 Sep 1858 in Wayne County, Georgia. She died on 14 Nov 1887 in Georgia. She was buried in High Bluff Cemetery, Wayne now Brantley Co., Ga . Banner married (2) Lovie Thomas daughter of John Banner Thomas Jr. and Lovie Denmark. Lovie was born in 1860 in PierceCounty, Georgia
