Micajah Crews was born in South Carolina, Feb. 10, 1810 a son of Alexander and Lucy Crews. His parents moved to lower Wayne County in Georgia in 1820, and he grew up in Wayne and Camden counties and lived in that section until his death.

Micajah Crews lived in the 590th district of Ware County but was cut off into Pierce County in its creation in 1858. This territory is now in Brantley County. Mr. Crews died at his home near Hickox, Oct. 3, 1877. He and his wife are buried at old High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church
