Micajah Crews was born in South Carolina, Feb. 10, 1810 a son of Alexander and Lucy Crews. His parents moved to lower Wayne County in Georgia in 1820, and he grew up in Wayne and Camden counties and lived in that section until his death.

He married Emaliza, daughter of James Robinson, an early settler of lower Wayne County. She was born in North Carolina, January 7, 1822, and died December 22, 1896.
