He was employed at Gilman Paper Company for 45 years before he retired. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by two daughters, {{has person|Rhonda Rochelle Crews |alt=Rhonda Rochelle Hayes}} ({{has person |alt=Corey |name=Corey Hayes), of {{has location |city=Jacksonville |state=Florida |alt=Jacksonville, Fla.}}, and {{jas person|name=Sonya Leigh Crews|alt=Sonya Leigh Quinn}}, of {{has location|city=Kingsland}}; three brothers, {{has person|Ralph Crews}}, of {{has city|Blackshear}}, {{has person|Billy Crews}}, of {{has city|Waycross}}, and {{has person|Gene Crews}}, of {{has city|Harriet's Bluff}}; one grandson, {{has person|Brandon Lee Crews}}, of {{has city|Kingsland}}; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A graveside service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at [[Hephzibah Cemetery]].
