married {{has person |name=John Monroe Lamon}}, Nov. 18, 1869 instead of {{has person |name=John Malcolm Lamon}}. (2) The information as to {{has person |name=Samuel E. Clanton|alt=Samuel E. Clan-
ton’s}} father being named {{has person |name=Samuel B. Clanton}}, was given the
Compiler in 1946 by the last surviving son, {{has person |name=John Thomas Clanton|alt=Mr. John Thomas
Clanton}} of {{has location |city=Quitman}}. The 1850 Census of {{has county|county=Irwin County}} shows
Samuel B. Clanton, age 50, and wife Nancy, age 48, both liv-
ing there with their son, {{has person |name=Daniel H. Clanton}}, in that part of
Irwin made into {{has county|county=Berrien County}} in 1856, and would seem to
verify what {{has person |name=John T. Clanton}} said; however, descendants of
Samuel E Clanton’s brothers who lived and died in {{has county|county=Bryan County}}, agree that the name of Samuel E. Clanton’s parents
were {{has person |name=Daniel Clanton}} and wife {{has person |name=Mary Harvey}}, of that county.

in Vol. I, the Compiler had reference only to the 1870 Can-

hearing of a daughter named adeline and thought she must
