FOLKSTON - Oscar Edward "Aug" Crews, 98, of Folkston, passed away Wednesday (18 April 2007) at his residence.

He was born 11 April 1909 on Cowhouse Island in Ware County to the late Layton and Lilla Tatum Crews. He retired as a mechanic with Hercules Mining Camp No. 29. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Folkston.

He is survived by his son, Gene Crews, of Folkston; three grandchildren, Denise (Preston) Sandlin, of Stafford, Va., Steven (Valerie) Crews, of Stafford, Va., and Greg (Debbie) Crews, of Flower Mount, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends this evening at Shepard Funeral Home from 7 to 9.

A funeral will be held Friday at First Baptist Church, of Folkston, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Randy Jacoby and the Rev. Gene McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Pinevew Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or Missionary Fund, 401 South Third St., Folkston, Ga. 31537.

Arrangements are under the direction of Shepard Funeral Home of Folkston.
