FOLKSTON - Harold Calvin Crews, 82, of Folkston, died Sunday ({{has date|Jan. 28, 2007}}) at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was a native and life-long resident of {{has county|Charlton County}}. He was a member of {{member of church|Homeland United Methodist Church}}. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 130.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, {{has person|Madria Mizell Crews}}.

He is survived by his children, {{has person|Pat Crews|Pat Jones (Sam)}}, of {{has city|city=Chickamauga|state=Georgia}}, {{has person|Hal Crews|Hal Crews (Nancy)}}, of {{has city |city=Lake City |state=Florida |alt=Lake City, Fla. |alt page=Lake City}}, and {{has person|Don Crews|Don Crews (Jeanne)}}, of {{has city|city=Folkston|state=Georgia}}; a sister, {{has person |Hazel Crews|Hazel Smith (Marvin)}}, of {{has city|city=Homerville|state=Georgia}}; a brother, {{has person|name=Carlos Crews |alt=Carlos Crews (Melba)}}, of {{has city |city=Lake City |state=Florida |alt=Lake City, Fla. |alt page=Lake City}}; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren

The family will receive friends Wednesday at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral will be held Thursday at Homeland United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. {{has person|Alice Chancey}} and the Rev. {{has person|Marvin Smith}} officiating.

Burial will be in {{buried at|cemetery=Sardis Cemetery |county= Burke County |state=Georgia |country=United States}}.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, Va. 22038-11131 or the Gene McCullough Fund for Missions, c/o First Baptist Church, Folkston 401 S. 3rd St., Folkston, Ga. 31537.
