Introduction (cont)

Many of the men on these lists enlisted in Confederate service or served for six months in a state unit after these lists were taken. Original records of Georgia's state units are stored in the Georgia Department of Archives & History, and the microfilms of Confederate and state service records are available for researchers at that facility.
