This document states that John Jansen was born in Wisconsin while his father was born in Germany.  This suggests John Jansen's father, believed to be {{Individual links first and last  |First_Name =Paul |Last_Name =Jansen  |TNG_ID =58}}, moved to the Wisconsin from Germany sometime prior to 01 Apr 1877.
